Best Ways to Earn Points

Hotels

Hotels offer the easiest route to amassing Honors points. The number of points a member can earn varies based on their tier status. The points-earning potential for rewards members breaks down as follows:

  • Blue: 10 points per dollar spent with Hilton
  • Silver: 11 points per dollar spent with Hilton
  • Gold: 18 points per dollar spent with Hilton
  • Diamond: 20 points per dollar spent with Hilton

Travel

  • Ride Shares: Earn 3 points per dollar spent with Lyft
  • Priority Pass: Earn between 4,000 and 10,000 points for a Priority Pass membership (value differs based upon Priority Pass membership level)
  • Car Rentals: Earn up to 500 bonus points on qualifying rentals with Alamo, Enterprise, and National – up to a maximum of 5,000 points

Other Ways to Earn

  • Shopping: Earn points when shopping with thousands of retailers through the brand’s dedicated shopping portal
  • Dining: Up to 8 points per dollar spent with over 10,000 dining partners worldwide.

Value of Hilton Honors Points

Determining the precise value of rewards points from loyalty programs is never an exact science. There are myriad metrics and factors which determine the value of points, including the date and location of the hotel in question, the season in which the planned stay is booked, the quality of the room, and more. Points – like other currencies – also fluctuate based on inflation and deflation, meaning some hotels may devalue their points. At HotelCards, we take great care to calculate point values based on all these metrics (and more) and divide the resulting figures to arrive at an approximate value for points.

According to our calculations, Hilton Honors points have a current value of around 0.55 to 0.6 cents per point.

Best Ways to Redeem Points

Free Nights

Redeeming points for free night stays at Hilton properties offers the most value for money. While the chain states that free nights start as low as 5,000 points, free nights typically start at around 30,000 points depending on the class of hotel, the time of stay, and the location. Silver, Gold, and Diamond Elite members also receive a complimentary 5th night free when they book standard rewards stays of five consecutive nights or more.

Transfer to Airline Miles

Points transfer to over 40 different airlines as well as Amtrak. For a comprehensive list of Hilton airline partners worldwide, please visit our comprehensive Hilton Honors Rewards Program Guide.

Other Ways to Redeem

  • Shopping: Points are redeemable towards merchandise through the dedicated Honors Shopping Mall, gift certificates with some of the largest merchants in the world, or shopping with Amazon.
  • Pool Points: Members can share or pool their points with loved ones to help reach top-tier redemptions.
